If your employer or another organization provides your workspace, that organization also decides why and how its members’ information is used within the workspace. For information we process on its behalf, we follow its lawful instructions. Its own privacy notices and agreements may also apply.
2. Information we collect
- Account and sign-in information: your name, email address, profile picture, identity-provider identifier, session information, and organization memberships. WorkOS provides authentication. When you choose Google or Microsoft sign-in, we receive the identity information permitted by that sign-in flow; we do not receive your Google or Microsoft password.
- Profile details you provide: display name, job title, introduction, birthday, time zone, selected city or country and associated map coordinates, and optional profile or pet images. These details support team directories, maps, and celebrations.
- Workspace content and activity: invitations, team memberships, mural posts, comments, reactions, uploaded images, calendar events, game answers and results, quests, collectibles, and participation history.
- Calls: audio, video, and screen sharing you choose to enable, together with connection and room information needed to deliver live calls. The current service does not provide call recording or transcription. Other participants may independently capture what you share.
- Technical and support information: IP addresses, request and error logs, browser or device information, notification preferences, push-subscription details, support messages, and abuse reports.
- Billing information: customer and subscription identifiers, selected plans, transaction status, and billing records. When paid checkout is available, Paddle handles payment information directly; Teamopia does not store full payment-card numbers.
3. How we use information
We use this information to authenticate users, run workspaces and live activities, display profiles and shared content, send invitations and service notifications, manage subscriptions, provide support, prevent abuse, and investigate technical problems.
Teamopia also calculates participation and engagement metrics from activity such as posts, reactions, and games. Depending on their plan and permissions, organization administrators can see team and member-level metrics. These metrics describe activity within Teamopia; they are not a measure of work performance.
We process information as needed to provide the service you or your organization request, comply with legal obligations, and protect and maintain the service where permitted by law. Where consent is required, we ask for it. Optional profile details and device permissions can be withheld, although related features may then be unavailable. This policy explains our practices; it does not replace any separate consent required by law.
4. Who can see your information
Your profile, contributions, results, and participation may be visible to members of your organization or team according to the feature’s audience and their permissions. Workspace administrators manage membership and settings and may access analytics, audit information, and moderation tools. Authorized Teamopia administrators may access information to operate the service, resolve support requests, or investigate abuse.
Uploaded images are served through publicly accessible file URLs. Someone who obtains an image URL may view or share that image without signing in, even when the post containing it is shown only within a team. Avoid uploading confidential material or images you do not have permission to share.
We may disclose information when legally required, to address fraud or security threats, or to protect people’s rights. If the service changes ownership, relevant information may be transferred with the service, subject to applicable safeguards and notice requirements.
5. Service providers and integrations
We use the following services for the features described below. The information a provider receives depends on which features you use.
- DigitalOcean: application and database hosting, plus storage and delivery of uploaded images.
- WorkOS, Google, and Microsoft: account authentication and the identity information needed for your chosen sign-in method.
- LiveKit: delivery of live audio, video, and screen sharing, including connection metadata.
- Resend and Google Workspace: service email delivery and correspondence with Teamopia, respectively. Your browser’s push service also processes notification delivery information if you enable push notifications.
- Paddle: checkout, payment, subscription, and related billing services when you purchase a paid plan.
- Google Maps: location search and map display. Search text and browser connection information may be sent to Google when these features are used.
- Microlink and YouTube: retrieving metadata for links you share. A shared URL may be sent to the relevant preview provider. Loading external images or following links can also disclose your IP address and browser information to their hosts.
These providers have their own privacy notices and may process certain information for their own legal, security, or account-management purposes. We do not sell personal information or use Google or Microsoft sign-in information for advertising. Google-derived information is used to provide the requested service, subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements where applicable.
7. Retention and deletion
We retain account information while it is needed to provide your account and workspace. Mural content is subject to your organization’s plan and retention settings; some plans do not apply an automatic age-based content limit. Operational records, support correspondence, and billing records are kept as needed for their purpose, legal requirements, security, and dispute resolution. Different categories may have different retention periods.
You can request account deletion in Settings → Account data or by emailing us. The app displays the scheduled deletion date and any available cancellation option. Deletion removes or de-identifies your profile and related memberships, preferences, reactions, pets, and participation history, including your authentication account.
Shared posts and comments can remain in their teams, attributed to “Former member”. Content and attached images may still identify you from what they contain. Contact us if you need personal information removed from retained content. Some game records, audit records, legally required information, or copies held by recipients or providers may also remain. Backup copies, where maintained, are removed according to their retention cycle rather than immediately.
8. International processing and security
Teamopia is operated from Argentina and uses international service providers. Information may be stored or processed outside Argentina, including in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, those safeguards must apply to that transfer. You can contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your data.
We use measures such as encrypted connections, authenticated access, and role-based permissions to protect information. No service can guarantee absolute security, and the public image URLs described above are an exception to signed-in access. Please report suspected unauthorized access to our contact address.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
You can edit available profile fields, manage notification preferences, and request deletion through the app. You may also contact contact@jointeamopia.com to request access, correction, updating, or deletion of your personal information. Depending on the law that applies, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, obtain a portable copy, or withdraw consent. We may need to verify your identity and coordinate with your organization before fulfilling a request.
Under Argentina’s Law 25,326, you have rights of access, rectification, updating, and suppression where applicable. Access requests are generally answered within 10 calendar days; rectification, updating, or suppression requests within five business days, subject to applicable legal conditions. Access is free at intervals of at least six months, or more frequently where a legitimate interest is shown.
The Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública (AAIP) is Argentina’s authority for personal-data protection. You may file a complaint with the AAIP if you believe your rights have not been respected. You may also contact the competent authority in your jurisdiction.
10. Children
Teamopia is intended for adults participating in workplace or professional teams and is not directed to people under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
11. Changes and contact
We will update the date on this page when this policy changes. For material changes, we will provide an appropriate notice, such as an in-app message or email, and obtain consent where required before using information for a new purpose.
For questions or privacy requests, contact us using the details below. Our Terms of Service explain the rules for using Teamopia.
